Chassis 135AS0000754, first registered July 1, 1967?

Where's the error?
Chassis 135AS0000754, first registered July 1, 1967?
Chassis plate 135BS0000754?
According to the chassis number history, the car would then only be from 1968?
Does anyone know more about the history of this car?
I bought it in Germany in 2023 from a deceased Swiss/German industrialist. His only son had no interest in cars and sold the entire

The problem could have been that this car was imported in the USA in the 70s. This happened also to my Dino Spider which carries VIN 986.

The reason behind was that due to regulations in the US cars from above 1967 were backdated while being imported in order to avoid any changes on the car (e.g. bumpers and alike).

I got the car from a Belgian guy who re-imported it back to the EU 13 years ago... and the US documents stated 1967. So, I did go back to the officials here in Germany to correct this registration date as it for sure 1968. That was with some effort but in the end easy.

BTW: if this car would ever be imported again into the US... this kind of back-dating is not needed anymore as they are accepted "as is" vintage cars. One of the reasons btw why European models of this aera are more appreciated.
